Welcome to Rhodes State College! We have a number of services that focus on you and how to help you succeed during this semester. Read the information and view the links below for important details. Reach out to the people listed below to answer your questions and concerns.

WHERE TO BEGIN

Typically, your username/user ID is your entire last name, period, first initial and middle initial —ex. jones.ma for Mike Allen Jones. Your Student Success Navigator will send you your username at the email you applied to Rhodes State College with about a week after you're admitted.

The initial passwords for network, e-mail, STARS, and Canvas access is your “R number.” (NOTE: The R is capitalized and followed by all of the digits, including the zeros. If you do not know your R number, follow the instructions under the “STARS” section.) Once you log into the network, you can change your password and setup a password self-service account which will allow you to reset your password or unlock your account from anywhere you have Internet access.

To do so:

  1. Click on My Rhodes
  2. Select Student Portal
  3. Click Password Management

Note: New passwords MUST be nine (9) characters and contain at least one (1) Capital letter and one (1) number. It must not contain any proper names or include any previous passwords. Three (3) unsuccessful attempts LOCKS your account!

To unlock the account:

The first time you login to your Rhodes State College network accounts you will be prompted to set up Multi-Factor Authentication. Follow the instructions from IT to do so.

Access STARS Online using your Rhodes username/email address and password.

  1. Click here
  2. Click Enter Secure Area
  3. Enter your USER ID. (Your USER ID is your entire last name, period, first initial of your first name and the first initial of your middle name. Example Michael Allen Jones’ USER ID would be jones.ma.)
  4. Enter your password.
  5. Complete Multifactor Authentication (MFA) steps.

NOTE: Can’t remember your “R” number (Rhodes ID number)? You can find it in the Personal Information link in STARS.

Your Rhodes State College email account will be used for official communication. You are responsible for checking your account OFTEN to make sure you are up to date on all information. The office of First Year Programs recommends that you start checking your Rhodes email account at least once a week prior to the start of classes so that you don’t miss important announcements and due dates.
