Welcome to Rhodes State College! We have a number of services that focus on you and how to help you succeed during this semester. Read the information and view the links below for important details. Reach out to the people listed below to answer your questions and concerns.
WHERE TO BEGIN
The first time you login to your Rhodes State College network accounts you will be prompted to set up Multi-Factor Authentication. Follow the instructions from IT to do so.
The initial password for network, e-mail, STARS, and Canvas access will be your Rhodes State ID Number (R-number.) Please note: The password is case sensitive. If you do not know your R number, please contact the Admissions Office.
Once you log into the network, you can change your password and setup a password self-service account which will allow you to reset your password or unlock your account from anywhere you have Internet access.
To do so:
- Click on My Rhodes
- Select Student Portal
- Click Password Management
Note: New passwords MUST be nine (9) characters and contain at least one (1) Capital letter and one (1) number. It must not contain any proper names or include any previous passwords. Three (3) unsuccessful attempts LOCKS your account!
To unlock the account:
- Use the Password Management program
- Or call the Help Desk (419) 995-8069
Access STARS Online using your Rhodes username/email address and password.
- Click here
- Click Current Student/Employee login
- Enter your Rhodes State Email Address
- Enter your current password.
- Follow prompts to complete Multifactor Authentication (MFA) steps.
Your Rhodes State College email account will be used for official communication.
- Click here
- Enter your username and password
- You can begin setting up your calendar, sending and receiving emails, and enter contacts. If you experience any challenges, please contact the Help Desk at (419) 995-8069.
You can add your Rhodes State College email to your smart phone mail app. Search for instructions specific to your device.
*You are responsible for checking this email account OFTEN, making sure you are up to date on all information.
Canvas is our online classroom platform. Your instructor will post weekly assignments, test information and class announcements and you can message with classmates.
Please view your New Student Orientation within you CANVAS account to access a wealth of information. It is important that you check CANVAS DAILY, to make sure you are up to date with the most current information!

- Under “Courses” select CANVAS Orientation for Students
To add the CANVAS app to your smart phone, visit your appstore.
Barnes and Noble operates the bookstore.
Please visit the bookstore to purchase your textbooks, supplies, and Rhodes State logoed items! All items are available online on the Bookstore's webpage.
You can also shop in-person on the main campus. The bookstore is located on the first floor of the Public Service Building.

Advisors will assist you with exploring your academic interests, selecting courses, addressing academic difficulties, identifying additional resources for support, and understanding College policies, procedures, and processes. You are assigned a Faculty Advisor based on your major. After the 15th day of your first semester with Rhodes State College, you will receive a message from your Advisor introducing themselves and providing their contact information. If you misplace your Advisor’s name and contact information, please contact Advising@RhodesState.edu to become reconnected with your Advisor.

Start with Orientation! Log-in to Canvas; under “courses” you should see orientation assigned to you. Complete this course prior to starting the semester – there’s a ton of great information about being a Rhodes State student.
