Agricultural Business Overview
The Rhodes State College Agriculture Business Certificate will provide students with a basic understanding of Northwest Ohio Agriculture from production to marketing, skills for managing themselves and others in agriculture businesses, marketing techniques in niche and commodity marketing unique to agriculture, and critical thinking skills in solving sustainability issues in local and international agriculture. This certificate provides students with the basic skills required by employers.
Degree Pathway
The Agriculture Business Certificate is part of the Agriculture Associates degree program. The first-year students will learn fundamental Agronomy and Agriculture Business aspects to provide a foundation for their second-year of the curriculum. Students will choose a pathway in either Prescription Mapping or Robotics with Artificial Intelligence in the second year.

- Courses introduces students to agriculture, management of agricultural business, sales and marketing in the agricultural business and sustainable agriculture
- Can be completed in one term and 100% online.
- Agriculture employers have assisted Rhodes State College in designing this certificate to prepare students who are authentic speakers about agriculture, who can be self-managed, understand local marketing options and are critical thinkers and problem solvers.
- The technician level and other agricultural support jobs in the business and management sectors are projected to see growth of 4.5% across Ohio over the next decade.

Available Fall 2024!
Secondary to grant funding through the United States Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture, students enrolled in the below courses will be awarded scholarships to pay for all tuition and fees associated with the course. Upon successful completion of the coursework, the grant will also pay for all costs associated with credentialing exams for Agriculture Commodity Tester, Commercial Pesticide Applicator, BASF Plant Science, and Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification.

AGR 1401 Introduction to Soils for Agronomic Production $570 tuition + $27 course fees
AGR 1402 Principles of Crop Management $570 tuition
AGR 1403 Principles of Nutrient Management $570 tuition
AGR 1404 Introduction to Integrated Pest Management $570 tuition
AVI 1000 Unmanned Aerial Systems $570 tuition
