The Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology program at Rhodes State is designed specifically to prepare students for technician-level employment in the field of automated systems. The curriculum combines course offerings from the Electronic Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology programs and includes manufacturing specific technical electives depending on the individual areas of interest

Career Opportunities

Technicians employed in electro-mechanical systems within flexible manufacturing systems. Potential occupations include Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Engineering.  This certificate is a pathway to an associate and bachelor degree in Electro/Mechanical. 

Scholarship Opportunity 

Rhodes State has been awarded a Choose Ohio First (COF) Scholarship grant by the Ohio Department of Higher Education. The grant provides scholarships to students majoring in disciplines that significantly strengthen Ohio’s competitiveness in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine (STEMM) education and industry.

Program Highlights

  • The certificate contains electives in Math, Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Drafting, and Fluid power
  • Program can be completed in one year
  • Maintenance Technicians are needed by most if not all industries that produce about anything.
  • The median annual wage for Machinery Maintenance workers in May 2020 was over $54,920. (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2021)
