Associate of Science Overview
The Associate of Science (AS) degree is for students who plan to transfer to a bachelor's degree at a four-year college or university and major in Mathematics, Physical and Biological Sciences, Business, Psychology, Pre-Health, or other related field of study. The AS degree meets all general education distribution requirements necessary for transfer to any Ohio four-year institution by including courses in English composition, mathematics, arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, and natural sciences.
Tuition to Rhodes State is over 50% less than local universities. This degree is designed with transferability in mind, making it perfect for students that want to save money while working toward a Bachelor's of Science. Associate of Science students at Rhodes State College typically transfer to any number of schools in Ohio and surrounding areas, including Bowling Green State University, Ohio State University, Franklin University, Purdue University – Fort Wayne, and many others.

Scholarship Opportunity
Rhodes State has been awarded a Choose Ohio First (COF) Scholarship grant by the Ohio Department of Higher Education. The grant provides scholarships to students majoring in disciplines that significantly strengthen Ohio’s competitiveness in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine (STEMM) education and industry.
Associate of Science Degree Areas of Concentration
The program prepares students for entry level positions in a variety of fields using artificial intelligence, including the information technology, automotive, healthcare, aerospace, industrial, and manufacturing industries. Program content includes an introduction to artificial intelligence and machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and artificial intelligence for business solutions and other applications. The curriculum also includes coursework in computer programming, math, engineering, and statistics.

This AS degree is for students who want to develop a career skillset in a variety of disciplines such as accounting, finance, economics, management, marketing, human resources, supply chain and many others. Completion of the AS Business Concentration is an academic accomplishment that increases employment potential in an increasingly in-demand career field. Alongside the courses within the concentration, students will also learn teamwork, creativity, written and oral communication, problem solving, and quantitative reasoning.
The AS Business Concentration is for the student who intends to transfer to a four-year public university in Ohio for further study. The successful completion of the degree requires a minimum of 62 credits.

The program will develop valuable skills to prepare students for upper-level coursework including teamwork, critical thinking, written and oral communication, problem solving, and quantitative reasoning. The successful student will have a distinct grasp of American diversity and global awareness.
To complete the Pre-Health concentration, a student must complete the Associate of Science distribution requirements and the additional courses listed in the concentration. The degree requires a minimum of 62 credits.
view plan of studyStudents who are considering the AS Psychology Concentration should expect to go on to a successful bachelor’s degree program or to transition into the workforce upon completion. There are a number of career opportunities in psychology, including social services, human resources, business, sales, teaching, criminal justice, law, and more.
At Rhodes State, Psychology students should expect small class sizes with caring faculty, earned access to the Honors Program, and seamless transition to the Ohio public college or university of their choice upon completion. Students who enroll in the Psychology Concentration will complete a minimum of 61 credits (including the Ohio Transfer Module). The concentration consists of electives in general psychology, abnormal psychology, life span development, educational psychology, and social psychology.
