Rhodes State College Celebrates Community College Month
LIMA, Ohio April 17, 2025 – This April, Rhodes State College is joining the national Community College Month (#CCMonth) campaign to spotlight the vital role community colleges play in delivering affordable, high-quality education and driving local workforce development. Current and former students, businesses, and community members are encouraged to take part in celebrating the College’s impact on the region.
“Community colleges are essential to providing accessible, affordable education that changes lives,” said Dr. Cynthia Spiers, President of Rhodes State College. “Whether students are earning a degree, gaining career-ready skills, or planning to transfer to a four-year institution, we’re here to help them achieve their goals and build brighter futures.”
Coordinated by the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), #CCMonth aims to increase public awareness of the economic and academic advantages of attending a community college.
Research shows that Americans increasingly recognize the value of community colleges. Students benefit from lower tuition, open admissions, and vital support services such as financial aid and academic assistance. Without these options, many would not be able to pursue higher education.
Rhodes State encourages students, alumni, and supporters to join the #CCMonth conversation on social media by sharing their community college stories.
