Rhodes State College has been awarded $130,968 in funding for the "Program and Project Support Certificate Courses for High School Students and Adults" initiative. The grant, provided for FY24, will allow the college to offer scholarships for 108 students, including high school students and adults, to pursue specialized technical training.
From September 2024 through June 2025, students will have the opportunity to enroll in a variety of certificate programs, including:
These courses are designed to equip participants with hands-on experience and essential skills in key technical fields. Participants will not only learn to operate and troubleshoot advanced machinery but also gain valuable experience to boost their employment prospects. Each course aims to ignite further interest in continued education and careers in automation, robotics, welding, and electrical industries.
About the Courses:
Rhodes State College's collaboration with over 20 school districts, five chartered non-public schools, and seven county Job and Family Service offices ensures these programs meet the needs of the community, continuing the College's mission to provide high-quality technical education. This grant will further support technical training opportunities for students in grades 9-12 and adults, meeting the growing demand for skilled workers in the region.
