The 25th Annual Rhodes State Tee Off for Scholarships is Friday, September 20, 8 a.m., at Colonial Golfers Club, 10985 St. Rt. 309. The Tee Off is the main fundraiser for the Rhodes State Scholarship, which is the broadest and most awarded scholarship at Rhodes State. This year, 45 students will receive this scholarship to help meet their educational goals.
Proceeds from the Tee Off support Rhodes State College student scholarships. The majority of Rhodes students receive financial aid, and many are working and raising families while attending school. Scholarships are important for them to continue their education, and a successful Tee Off allows more students to receive scholarships each year.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude for making the Rhodes State Scholarship possible. This scholarship will allow me to continue to focus my studies toward my degree as a Registered Nurse. I hope one day I can serve my community as a nurse and your assistance makes my goal that much more reachable.” Morgan Miller, Rhodes State Scholarship recipient said.
The Tee Off is hosted by the Rhodes State College Foundation, and they are actively seeking teams for the event. To support the students of Rhodes State College, organizations and individuals can go to www.rhodesstate.edu/teeoff to register to play.
Over the past 26 years, the Rhodes State College Foundation has awarded 2,938 scholarships to students totaling over $3.1 million. More than $722,524 of this amount was raised through the Tee Off. Foundation scholarships are available and awarded to students each year.
