Rhodes State College Foundation Receives Grant from Honda for Pre-College Programs

The Rhodes State College Foundation announces it has been awarded a grant of $23,284 from the Honda USA Foundation. The grant will help to promote STEM education to youth through the Rhodes State College Pre-College Programs.

“This grant helps Rhodes continue its mission of inspiring and educating youth in STEM careers through our Rhodesology/Pre-College programs,” said Ashley Hunter, Coordinator of Youth and Community Programming at Rhodes State College.

The Rhodesology/Pre-College camps aim to expose and educate young minds to the exciting career possibilities in STEM fields. The Pre-College program, now in its second year, takes a deeper dive into STEM subjects, providing participants with immersive experiences and hands-on learning opportunities. Some of this year’s camps include: Advanced Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Laboratory Secrets, Surg Tech, and Basic Robotics.

The grant from Honda will directly support scholarships and program enhancements, ensuring that more students have access to quality STEM education and experiences. Through this partnership, Rhodes State College and Honda are working together to nurture the next generation of STEM leaders and innovators.
