24th Annual Rhodes State College Tee Off for Scholarships set for September 15th

The 24th Annual Rhodes State Tee Off for Scholarships is Friday, September 15, 8 a.m., at Colonial Golfers Club, 10985 St. Rt. 309. The Tee Off is the main fundraiser for the Rhodes State Scholarship, which is the broadest and most awarded scholarship at Rhodes State. This year, 40 students will receive this scholarship to help meet their educational goals.

Proceeds from the Tee Off support Rhodes State College student scholarships. The majority of Rhodes students receive financial aid, and many are working and raising families while attending school. Scholarships are important for them to continue their education, and a successful Tee Off allows more students to receive scholarships each year.

“Because of generous donors, some of the financial burden of paying for my education has been lifted off the shoulders of not only me, but also my family. This scholarship shows me that there are people (and businesses) that want to see the next generation of Rhodes State graduates have the opportunity to fulfill their dreams and passions,” Makenna Diller, Rhodes State Scholarship recipient said.

The Tee Off is hosted by the Rhodes State College Foundation, and they are actively seeking both teams and sponsors for the event. To support the students of Rhodes State College, organizations and individuals can go to www.rhodesstate.edu/teeoff to register to play or sponsor the outing.

Over the past 23 years, the Rhodes State College Foundation has awarded 2,696 scholarships to students totaling over $2.8 million. More than $668,692 of this amount was raised through the Tee Off. Foundation scholarships are available and awarded to students each year.
