Rhodes State College Premiers First Annual Giving Day

The first annual Rhodes State Giving Day was held on March 30, 2023, and Rhodes community partners, alumni, faculty & staff, administration and students raised a grand total of $23,653, overwhelmingly surpassing its $10,000 goal. This year, Giving Day focused its fundraising efforts on the new Parenting Scholarship, which helps pregnant or parenting students reach their academic goals at Rhodes State. Introducing this new scholarship helps to better serve students with children and provide funding to support those who choose a higher education while raising a family.

Members of the Rhodes State Board of Trustees, the Foundation Board of Directors, and the College Cabinet came together to fund a $5,000 matching gift to help increase the day's success. Rhodes State is excited that the whole community united to support the new Parenting Scholarship and the over 1 in 3 Rhodes State scholarship applicants who are pregnant or parenting. The scholarship is now fully endowed, and will be awarded beginning in 2024-2025.
