Rhodes State Offering Mini Camps for Grades 2-7

Students in second through seventh grades have exciting opportunities to look forward to this year at Rhodes State College. Rhodesology Mini Camps are taking place from October 2022 through April 2023. Registration is now open, and camps cost $29 each, or campers can take part in a buy one camp, get one free special.

Campers in grades second through fourth must be accompanied by a parent or adult. Camps include Extreme Slime and The Magic Behind Magnets. 

Mini Camps for fifth through seventh grades include: Rocket League Esports Tournament – where campers will prepare to compete as part of an Esports team in Rocket League.  During the session campers will learn about eSports, game mechanics, warms-ups, training, and the importance of proper communication, teamwork, and sportsmanship. To close the session, teams will compete in a tournament.   

Be a Healthcare Hero - Healthcare Heroes work in a variety of careers, each of them with a specific skill set. Campers will discover the everyday heroes in the following careers: Dental Hygiene, Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Care, Radiographic Imaging and Surgical Technology.   

Precision Agriculture Drone Scavenger Hunt – Students get hands on real drone experience by working together and flying two drones through a scavenger hunt.

STEM – Mini camps rotate in topics to allow students to get experiences in areas such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Machining 101, Shared Computer Aided Design (CAD) Solid Model Part Design, Computer Aided Design (CAD) Assembly Design, 3D Printing, and Electromagnetism.
