Rhodes State College Offering Nurse Aide Training in Putnam County

LIMA, Ohio, November 20, 2020 – Rhodes State College, in partnership with OhioMeansJobs of Putnam County, and the Putnam County Educational Service Center will offer an 11-week State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) training program in Ottawa at the Putnam County Educational Service Center located at 124 Putnam Parkway in Ottawa, Ohio. The program begins January 12, 2021, with classes held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-7 p.m.  This training may be free for eligible students.

“This is a valuable program to enable both high school students and community members to receive hands-on training to enter the health care profession.  STNAs are in high demand and the training they receive with Rhodes State College will enable them to enter the workforce for immediate employment or continue along career pathways for advanced degrees," said Angela Heaton, Dean of Health Sciences and Public Services at Rhodes State College.  Students will learn the necessary skills to provide basic care to patients. Course content is based on the current standards and guidelines from the Ohio Department of Health and will include lectures, laboratory and a 16-hour clinical component.

Students are required to submit health and immunizations records prior to starting the clinical experience.  All students who successfully complete this course are eligible to take the STNS Certification credential examination.  Call or text Matt at (567) 245-1259 for more information.
