Rhodes State Partners with GROB Systems for TechCred Program

(Lima, OH – January 13, 2020) Rhodes State College participated in the Governor’s press conference and signing ceremony held at GROB Systems this morning. Governor DeWine signed House Bill 2 which permanently codifies the new TechCred program into law. Rhodes State is the educational partner for GROB Systems apprentices utilizing funding from TechCred.

“GROB Systems has been a valued partner with Rhodes State College since 2012 when we became their apprenticeship related instruction provider for Associate Degrees in Manufacturing and Electronic Engineering Technology. Together we have served over 175 apprentices,” said Dr. Cynthia E. Spiers, President of Rhodes State College. “And now, through the TechCred program, GROB is able to provide a highly recognized industry credential, taught by Rhodes State.”

Rhodes State offers twenty nationally recognized credentials which can be completed in less than a year.

“We are adding more credentials as we meet with business and industry leaders to learn what they need to further strengthen their workforce,” said Tammy Eilerman, Director of Advanced Manufacturing at Rhodes.

“This is a great day for GROB and all businesses and industry,” said Spiers. “It is a day that depicts the commitment by the Governor to upscale the technical skills needed in Ohio’s workforce!”
