Medical Scribe Certificate Overview

The Medical Scribe Certificate prepares a certified or licensed healthcare professional to be trained in medical documentation to assist a healthcare provider. Medical Scribes serve as a personal assistant to the provider; performing documentation in the EHR, gathering information for the patient’s visit, partnering with the provider to deliver the pinnacle of efficient patient care. The primary function of a scribe is the creation and maintenance of the patient’s medical record, which is done under the supervision of the attending provider. The scribe will document the patient’s story, the provider's interaction with the patient, the procedures performed, the results of laboratory studies, and other pertinent information.
