Overview

Upon completing the coursework associated with this certificate, the certified ANA would have an increased earning potential. The ANA certificate is embedded within the prerequisite semester for the Nursing curriculum to enable students to work part-time in a health care field while completing either the Practical Nursing (LPN) or Associate Degree (RN) Nursing  program. It can also be a stand-alone certificate for job-ready employment. Additionally, this certificate can be used to meet technical requirements of the Associate degree in Health Care Technology.

Advanced Nursing Assistant’s (NA) hold positions in long-term care as well as acute care facilities and are essential to the healthcare field. The ANA is a vital support position to licensed nurses and have higher earning potentials than entry-level nursing assistants. According to Ohio’s Top Job List, NA’s (including home health aides and healthcare support workers) have great future projected job growth as well as open positions. The annual starting salary for a NA is $23K and with advanced training up to $40K.

Program Highlights

Upon completion of the Advance Nursing Assistant Certificate the student is qualified for entry into either the Practical Nursing or Associate Degree Nursing Program.

  • The ANA Certificate can be used to satisfy requirements of several Associate Degrees including the AD in Nursing and AD in Health Care Technology.
  • All of the courses that are included in the ANA Certificate count as credit toward the Associate Degree in Nursing.
