Rhodes State launches Agriculture Technology Associate Degree

Rhodes State College has responded to the employment needs of regional agricultural businesses and the farming industry by offering a new Associate’s Degree in Agriculture Technology. This degree program is comprised of four specialization areas; Agriculture Business, Agronomy, Robotics/Artificial Intelligence, and Prescription Mapping.  All students will complete the Agriculture Business and Agronomy classes and choose a specialization in the Robotics/Artificial Intelligence or Prescription Mapping areas. Enrollment is officially open. 

Students in the new program will learn localized background in soils, crops, pests, and nutrient management; basics in business fundamentals and the financial aspects of the agricultural enterprise; foundational surveying, unmanned aerial vehicle and remote sensing technology, data interpretation, and prescription map creation; and a technical foundation of operation and repair of robotic applications.
