State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA)The State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) is a voluntary, national initiative established to allow member states to offer online courses outside each institution’s state by seeking and maintaining state approvals via a streamlined process. State participation in SARA assists institutions to remain compliant with other member SARA state’s regulatory agencies. Learn more about SARA. Professional Licensure Programs
Out-of-state students interested in a professional licensure program at Rhodes State College should first contact their home state licensing agency or the professional association. Ohio licensing requirements may not apply in other states. SARA does not provide reciprocity for state professional licensing requirements. Academic programs and individual graduates must meet standards set by that state’s licensure requirements in order for a graduate to be eligible for a license.
U.S Department of Education regulations and NC-SARA policies require institutions to disclose whether a program leading to a professional license or certification meets educational requirements for licensure or certification in all U.S. states.
Rhodes State College academic programs are designed to prepare students to sit for applicable licensure or certification in Ohio. Rhodes State College makes every effort to ensure information about educational requirements for licensure or certification is current; however, state requirements may change. Separate from educational requirements, state licensure boards may require applicants to complete professional examinations, background checks, years of professional experience, residence requirements, jurisprudence exams, training, etc. If you plan to pursue licensure or certification in a state other than Ohio, it is strongly recommended that you contact the appropriate licensing entity in that state to seek information and guidance regarding licensure or certification requirements before beginning an academic program.
