Electric Motors— (Partnering with Grob Systems of Bluffton, OH) Students will explore along with Grob instructors the basic concepts of how an electric motor works. Students will see the amazing and invisible power of electro-magnetism as they pass current through a wire coil to make a simple electric motor. This project will demonstrate some of the basic concepts that are used every day at Grob as Rhodes State College partners with automotive customers to produce equipment for electric vehicles. Date: February 26, 2022

Wind Energy— (Partnering with One Energy of Findlay, OH) Students will learn about wind and how it relates to wind energy while building a anemometer to explain the science of wind to understand main concepts and then relate wind speeds to power output from wind turbines. Date: March 26, 2022
