Rhodes State College to Kick Off Black History Month with the Traveling True Black History Museum

(Lima, Ohio 1-14-2020) Rhodes State College will kick off Black History month with a one-day display of the traveling True Black History Museum. The exhibit will be on display from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on January 28, 2020, Keese Hall Multipurpose Center. The True Black History Museum features artifacts dating from the late 1700s to the 21st century. Fred Saffold III, CEO, and Founder of The True Black History Museum, established the exhibit to preserve the history of African-American people and to educate others of the many significant contributions African-Americans have made to mankind.

Take a journey through the African-American experience with over 1,000 authentic artifacts, with original documents from historic figures such as Booker T. Washington, Mary McLeod Bethune, George Washington Carver, Rosa Parks, Frederick Douglas, Angela Davis, President Barack Obama, and many other great African-Americans.

The program is sponsored by the Rhodes State College Office of Student Engagement & Activities and Office of Student Affairs. For more information on the museum, go to www.trueblackhistory.com.
