This course is a comprehensive application of the federal income tax codes as it pertains to the determination of taxable income and computation of tax liability for individuals, corporations and partnerships. Tax returns provided in a shoe box format are prepared by hand and also by utilizing a tax software package. In addition, online tax research is completed.

This course constitutes a complete accuracy-development and speed-building keyboarding program. The diagnostic tests enable students to identify their speed and accuracy problems; the championship typing techniques and drills enable students to correct them. All corrective practice is individualized. Rhythm-development drills will be utilized. Touch keyboarding experience and correct fingering techniques are required.

The structure and function of the human body is studied as an integrated whole. The course begins with a brief study of inorganic and organic chemistry as well as histology, and progresses through the following body systems: integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and nervous. Laboratories include dissections and plastic model demonstrations. “C” grade policy applies for a student in a health program. All students enrolled in BIO-1110 must also sign up for a section of BIO-1110 lab.

Incorporated in the course are note taking, test-taking, library skills, time management, memorization and concentration skills which can shorten the time used for study, yet increase the productivity of the time spent. This course does not count toward graduation. This is a credit course and will be counted in a student’s grade point average; however, it will not count toward graduation requirements or as an elective substitute.

Such proposal must be submitted to the division dean for approval and student assignment to an Information Technology area faculty member for overseeing the project. This course of independent study may be substituted for an Information Technology technical course if it is applicable. Not more than five (5) credit hours will count toward graduation

This course includes both basic and advanced methods of fitness evaluation, exercise testing and evaluation, proper use of equipment and proper exercise techniques. Basic discussion of biomechanics, joint analysis, resistance training are reviewed as it relates to proper exercise technique. Course will review methods for assessing both anaerobic and aerobic fitness. Students will be able to complete proper body fat assessment, height and weight, Body Mass Index and use this information to assess overall fitness. Course will also include risk factor assessments for fitness and disease states such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. This course does have required lab hours. “C” Grade Policy applies.
