Post Secondary Enrollment Options Program (PSEOP)

The Ohio Legislature passed an education reform bill which allows high school freshman, sophomores, juniors and seniors taking college classes to have the credit earned applied toward graduation from high school, from college, or from both.

Rhodes State College has chosen to participate in the Post Secondary Enrollment Options Program and has established the following requirements on enrollment eligibility and application procedures for high school students who wish to pursue the program. There are two enrollment options with different admission requirements. Students should read this information carefully and choose the program for which they qualify.

PLEASE NOTE: The College assumes that high school students who participate in the Postsecondary Enrollment Options Program are prepared academically to do college work. Students are expected to earn a minimum 2.00 grade point average in Rhodes State College courses. Students attending Rhodes State College under PSEOP are not permitted to participate in extracurricular activities or athletics at the College.

Concurrent Enrollment

The Concurrent Enrollment Program allows high school seniors an opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. Since their educational program at Rhodes State College will be in addition to their regular high school studies, only seniors who have demonstrated academic achievement will be considered for the program.

To be admitted to the program, students must have the permission of their parents and the recommendation of their guidance counselor or high school principal. An official high school transcript must be submitted. Students accepted into the College under the Concurrent Enrollment Program will be allowed to take up to five credit hours per quarter. This course load could be increased in certain situations.

Concurrent enrollment students pay the same tuition and related fees as regular students attending Rhodes State College. All students must earn a 2.00 grade point average in Rhodes State College courses in order to continue in the program. Once students are accepted into the program, credits earned apply to their degree program. All concurrent enrollment students must arrange a personal conference with an academic advisor to schedule their program of study.

PLEASE NOTE: Students attending Rhodes State College under the PSEOP or Concurrent Enrollment Program are not permitted to participate in collegiate student activities or in any type of collegiate athletics.
