Entrepreneurship is about assisting small business in the development of business plans, management skills and business expertise to foster foresight, creativity and the willingness to accept risk.

Solutions, etc… supports today’s entrepreneur at all levels of business growth and development with a complete range of services designed to make business more successful.

Since 1988, Rhodes State College has hosted the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) of Ohio office for Region 3. Our service area includes Allen, Auglaize, Hancock, Hardin, Mercer, Paulding, Putnam and Van Wert counties.

In addition, collaboration exists with the West Central Development Corporation, offering accessibility to small business loan programs, internships and other advancement opportunities to ensure small businesses have access to the financing needed for business development and growth.

Services available through Solutions, and in particular the SBDC, accommodate:

  • Start-up/Pre-ventures – 0 to 18 months
  • Growing/Expanding Businesses – 18 months to 3 years
  • Mature/Prospering Businesses – 4 to 7 years
  • Transition/Exiting Businesses

The SBDC and Solutions provide business planning, strategic planning, gap analysis, performance alignment, marketing analysis, financial planning, job profiling and skill assessment and a host of other services to satisfy the veritable needs of entrepreneurs possessing a wide range of education, skill and business maturity levels.

The SBDC links the entrepreneur to numerous additional resources for growth and development planning relating to market assessment, record-keeping, tax withholdings, insurance, legal structure, site selection, as well as sales and earnings forecasting to naming a business.

The Small Business Development Center provides individual, confidential counseling and training programs for the small business person. The no-cost, confidential services link resources of higher education with resources of federal, state and local governments and the private sector. All appointments are arranged on an individual basis for your convenience and to ensure confidentiality.
