The Human Resource Major provides the practical skills and theory necessary to enter or advance in the human resource department of a medium to large organization. Students prepare for generalist careers helping administer management practices, selection and placement, training and development, compensation and benefits, labor and employee relations, plus health, safety, and security. The topics included on the Professional Human Resource Generalists Certificate Examination are benchmarks used to assure the course offerings are relevant and recognized by employers. In addition, this major gives students the flexibility of a basic business foundation.
What our grads are saying...
I decided to attend Rhodes State because of the location and convenience of the campus. The campus life is very welcoming and everyone is very pleasant. I was the President of the first Rhodes State SHRM Chapter. The professors are all very educated and want you to succeed! They always took out additional time to explain or answer questions when asked. You are not just a number at Rhodes, but an asset to their campus. Once, I received my Associate Degree I was offered my first HR position. Now I am currently a Certified Recruiter Mentor at Adecco and I am so thankful I started my college life at Rhodes State.
