Next Steps in Preparing for College

I've been Accepted, Now What

  1. Register for placement testing
COMPASS® Placement Testing is required for new students. Your testing scores will assist your academic advisor through the course scheduling process. Call the Testing Center at 419-995-8476 to schedule your testing appointment. This should be done prior to attending an orientation and registering for classes.
  2. Attend new student orientation
Orientation gives you the opportunity to meet other Rhodes State College students, learn about how to succeed as a student, and meet with an academic advisor to register for courses. RSVP for New Student Orientation

Summer and Fall Orientation dates: May 22 (recommended for summer students), June 10, June 13, June 28, July 16, July 29, August 3, and August 13.
  3. Send your transcripts
Have your transcripts sent to us from your high school and any former college or university. Passed your GED? Just send us a copy of your score report.
  4. ACT scores for Allied Health and Nursing
The ACT is required for all Allied Health and Nursing students. If you took it in high school, your scores will probably be on your transcript. If you have not taken it, don’t worry, we offer it on campus for our students through the Testing Center.
  5. Financial Aid—FAFSA form
We recommend all students complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is required to qualify for state and federal student aid (grants and loans), many scholarships, and the Federal Work-Study Program.
