Brown Bag Lecture Series: The Underground Railroad, Ohio, Longtown!
In commemoration of Black History Month, the Rhodes State College Diversity, Action, Training and Experience (DATE) Committee welcomes Connor Keiser, a 22-year-old lifelong resident and descendent of Longtown, Ohio founder James Clemens, a freed slave from Virginia. Come hear Keiser as he shares his passion for Longtown and the role it continues to play in Ohio history. His subject is a place noteworthy for its early (1818) ‘embrace of freedom for all’, racial integration and harmony –right here in Western Ohio. This Brown Bag Lecture Series program will take place on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Life and Physical Sciences Building in Room 170.
