Rhodes State uses the Angel course management system to support distance learning, Students receive information on their username and password in one of two ways: (1) if they attended an on-campus Orientation or (2) via the student network brochure mailed to them 1 to 6 weeks prior to the start of each term. Student usernames and passwords can be changed online or by calling the Helpdesk at 419-995-8069 or emailing the Helpdesk at helpdesk@rhodesstate.edu. The Students QuickStart Guide to Angel manual can be downloaded from the Angel login page in the Help area.  

Logging into Angel

From the Rhodes State web site, www.rhodesstate.edu, find the QuickLinks and Angel Student Portal. The login page will look similar to this:

Enter your campus user name and password in the Log On box. It is the same user name and password that you would use to log into the campus network or get your campus email. If you do not remember your password, call the Help Desk at 419-995-8069 and ask them to re-set your NETWORK password. For security purposes, you will be prompted to pick a new 9-character password every 90 days.

If you are a NEW STUDENT, your Rhodes username for access to the campus computer network, Rhodes’ email and Angel Learning System is set up as:

last name period first initial middle initial; it will be something like this: smith.jw

Please use all lowercase letters and no extra spaces except for first letter of your password. Your initial password is set up as follows:

• The first letter of your first name CAPITALIZED
• Your numeric birth month - 2 digits (for example—use 06 for June)
• The day of your birth – 2 digits (if birth date is not on file, 99 will be substituted)
• The middle two digits of your social security number (xxx-xx-xxxx)
• The first two letters of your last name (lower case)

Your password will be something like this: J120583sm

If you cannot get into STARS, please contact Registration at 419-995-8311 for assistance with STARS user name and pin code. Don’t forget you can also try your security question at the STARS login page if you don’t remember your pin code.

Once you are logged into ANGEL, your course(s) should be displayed in a course listing on the left.
