Tutoring is available to all Rhodes State College students free of charge for all courses offered through the college. All professional and peer tutors receive training approved by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).
The goal of tutoring is to encourage students to develop skills, strategies, and attitudes necessary to reach their academic goals. Tutors provide help in specific course material and integrate study and learning strategies to promote independent learning.
To better serve students, tutoring services can be found in the Life and Physical Sciences building, as well as in an online environment:
Scheduling an appointment is best way to ensure that a tutor is available to address specific concerns and offer assistance; however walk-in tutoring is also available daily.
In addition to working with students on course-specific topics, tutors are available to guide students in strategies and techniques for being a successful college student. Tutors can help in many ways, such as learning new ways to prepare for and take tests, finding out how to get the most out of classroom lectures, or discovering effective ways to manage time.
To schedule an appointment with a tutor, call our office assistant at (419) 995-8039
