Division of Arts & Sciences

The Division of Arts & Sciences is designed to provide a background in the humanities, social sciences, physical sciences and mathematics for James A. Rhodes State College students.  Employers require employees who can contribute to the local community-and to mankind-as well as experts in their special fields.  Arts & Sciences courses are structured to provide the background, skills and insights which will be provide to the students, their employers and their community.  The Division of Arts and Sciences provides courses that fulfill general and/or basic education requirements.  By allocating one fourth of the education program to general education and one fourth to basic studies, the College acknowledges the need for a balance between general and technical education.
