Policy
The James A. Rhodes State College Testing Center is an
affiliate of the National College Testing Association [NCTA],
and is guided by The Code of Professional Responsibilities in
Measurement. The James A. Rhodes State College Testing Center
endorses The Professional Standards and Guidelines for
Post-Secondary Test Centers and adheres to general policies that
promote high quality operations and ethical practices as
outlined in The Code for Fair Testing Practices in Education.
The Testing Center
- Promotes honest, integrity, and fairness in all testing
procedures
- Operates under the guidelines of equal opportunity,
affirmative action, and the American Disabilities Act (ADA),
and other local, state, and federal regulations
- Promises to protect the integrity of all testing, as well
as confidentiality and rights of privacy of examinees and
staff
- Adheres to program requirements of testing companies
(ASSET, COMPASS, etc.) as well as those set by Testing Center
for internal testing (Make-ups, retakes, Reduced
Distraction/Extended Time (ADA), etc.
- Treats examinees in a fair, courteous, professional, and
non-discriminatory manner
- Provides guidelines and staff training on managing
emergency situations, such as fire, or illness, that may occur
during testing.
- Addresses examinee concerns empathically while maintaining
the integrity of the administration
