Homework and Testing

Where do I turn in my homework?

Check the syllabus from your instructor for specific instructions on turning in assignments and homework.  Generally homework may be:

  • Dropped off at your instructor's office,
  • Dropped off in the Center for Distance Education, Tech Lab Room 138A (provide clear information as to student's name, course, and instructor are on the material),
  • Faxed to the school at 419-995-8093 (marked with student name, course name, and instructor name),
  • Emailed or mailed via US mail.  Students wishing to email or fax assignments to their instructor should seek permission to do so, as well as notify the instructor of the delivery method, prior to the due date.

How do I get my homework or tests back?

Distance education instructors use different methods to return assignments and tests.  Check with your instructor to see what method he/she is using.  Some instructors return homework and tests to the Center so you can pick up homework at your convenience and review tests in the Center.  Other instructors may return assignments by email or regular US mail.  If your instructor tells you that assignments and tests are returned to the Center, you may check with one of the Center instructors on duty to see your tests; they will also be happy to show you the homework return cabinet located in the Center.

What do I do if I cannot come to a regularly scheduled exam?

  • First, refer to your syllabus to find your instructor's policy on missed tests.
  • Second, you should contact your instructor, prior to the date of the test, to see if he/she will schedule a make-up time for you to take the exam.
  • Third, if a make-up test is permitted by your instructor, ask your instructor to forward the exam to the Center for Distance Education with your name, date/time of the exam.  To ensure testing validity, exams will NOT be given without proper identification.
  • Come to the Center during instructor hours on the testing schedule.

Remember to bring a picture ID if you plan to take a test in the Center, TL 138, or the Testing Center located in TL 152.  Campus IDs can be obtained at TL 140.
