10th Annual Rhodes State College Foundation Scholarship Awards.

For the past ten years the Rhodes State College Foundation h as continued to grow its endowment funds, especially those earmarked for Scholarships. We are grateful to the individuals, families, businesses and organizations that have funded and developed scholarships through our Foundation. Many have done so in honor or in memory of a loved one or to simply ensure that scholarship funds are available for students in a in a particular area of study. The following photos are of the recipients and some of the donors of the 2008-2009 Scholarship Awards.

About the Foundation

The James A. Rhodes State College Foundation was founded in 1978 as a non-profit corporation to assist in the promotion of the College. Established in recognition of the need to forge public and private partnerships, it adds financial support to the College’s other sources of funding. Through the generous contributions of our supporters and intelligent investment policies, we are working to fulfill the objectives of the Foundation.

Meeting the Needs…Through the strategic planning process at James A. Rhodes State College a series of goals were established to guide the College into the 21st century. One of the challenges recognized was the need to broaden our base of support due to declining state assistance while limiting tuition increases. The James A. Rhodes State College Foundation is our opportunity to gather private resources to supplement the institution’s efforts to achieve our mission in the 21st century.

We operate as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation under the guidance of an independent Board of Trustees to supplement and enhance the financial position of the College. The Board is a group of community-minded citizens who have committed a portion of their resources and talents to James A. Rhodes State College.
