Network Logon Procedures
A unique user Identification Number (ID), also known as
Rhodes ID, will be used in your initial login process. The Rhodes ID will be given to you during
orientation or when you register for classes. There are three different passwords/pin associated with your permanent
username.
- STARS Logon Procedure
- First time access
- User ID: Please enter your Rhodes ID, which should look something like this R00008329 (nine digits total beginning with an R).
- PIN: Initially set to your birth date in MMDDYY format; for example, the PIN for a birth-date of March 8, 1977 would be 030877.
We strongly recommend that you change your PIN the first time you access STARS. You can change this pin using the Change your Pin option on the Personal Information menu in STARS.
- Second login and beyond
- User ID: Use either network username or Rhodes ID.
- PIN: It will be the same as above unless you changed it.

- After logging onto the network, press Ctl-Alt-Del and then choose Change Password.
- After logging onto your Rhodes email account, click on the Options button and then click on the Change Password button.
- Within STARS, click the Change Network/Email Password button at the bottom of the page. (Click the Back icon to return to STARS) This button is not displayed if your network/email account has not yet been set up.

- WebCT Course Logon Access
- Username:
Your username for WebCT is the same username
that you use for the Rhodes network logon. If
you do not know what it is, log onto STARS to find it. Your username generally has
the format of: Lastname.FirstinitialMiddleinitial (for example: John Quincy Public
= public.jq)
- Password:
Your Rhodes WebCT password is initialized the first quarter you register for classes using the rules
described above within the Network Login Procedure.
- Changing your password:
Log onto WebCT to change your password.
You are not required to change your WebCT password, but highly encouraged to change
it the first time you log onto WebCT each quarter. PLEASE NOTE: Even though your Network account and WebCT Course account
are initially identical, they are not tied together; therefore changing one will
not change the other.
If you have problems logging into WebCT, please call the Helpdesk at 419-995-8069
