The Division of Arts & Sciences is designed to provide a background in the humanities, social sciences, physical and biological sciences and mathematics for Rhodes State College students. Employers require employees who can contribute to the local community—and to humanity as well— as experts in their special fields.

Arts & Sciences courses are structured to provide the background, skills, insights and breadth of knowledge which will be pertinent to the students, their employers and their community. The Division of Arts & Sciences provides courses that fulfill general and/or basic education requirements. By allocating approximately half of the education program to general education and basic studies, the College acknowledges the need for a balance between general and technical education.
