The goal of tutoring is to encourage students to develop skills, strategies, and attitudes necessary to reach their academic goals. Tutors provide help in specific course material and integrate study and learning strategies to promote independent learning.
To better serve students, tutoring services can be found in two distinct centers within the Science building, as well as in an online environment:
- Students can find assistance with math and science coursework in the Math and Science Skills Center located in SCI 270. Information about scheduling appointments and using the Math and Science Skills Center can be found on the MSSC webpage.
- Assistance for courses involving writing, computers, engineering, allied health, nursing, history or humanities coursework can be found in SCI 151.
-
Free online tutoring is available in math, writing, accounting, biology, chemistry, and anatomy and physiology by visiting eTutoring.
Scheduling an appointment is best way to ensure that a tutor is available to address specific concerns and offer assistance; however limited walk-in tutoring is available daily.
